Administrative Assistant Gold Creek
Part-time Term 80% (28 Hours Per Week)
August 11, 2026, to November 27, 2026
Duties:This is a term position to backfill the regular, part-time position (full-time description attached). Reporting to the Dean, Trades and Technology, this position is responsible for various support functions relating to Fire Innovation Training, Pro-Board compliance and the full time Fire Training Certificate Program. Coordinate test preparation and process examination materials, ensuring all examination documentation is complete, accurate, and recorded correctly. The position may be called upon to assist with any activity in the Fire Innovation Training Unit.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have a Certificate in Office Administration (OFAD) or an equivalent qualification, along with a minimum of one to two years of related administrative assistant experience. They will demonstrate proficiency in Windows operating systems, including efficient file navigation within shared network drives, and possess strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, as well as database systems. The role requires the ability to apply established standards and procedures, effectively manage multiple priorities, and contribute as a collaborative team member. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with well-developed interpersonal abilities. Experience with or exposure to systems including Colleague, PAR Testing/Score, Adobe Acrobat Professional, and online platforms (e.g., Moodle), as well as an understanding of NFPA Fire Standards-related programs, will be considered an asset.

Salary: Position #182
CUPE Pay Level 3 with a starting wage of $29.30 pay hour with increments progressing to Step 5 as per the CUPE Collective agreement (This includes 16% in lieu of benefits and vacation)
