Position Overview:
Under the supervision of the Recreation and Community Coordinator, the Program Coordinator will help plan and develop weekly, special event programs, and youth courses throughout the year. The Program Coordinator will supervise the Program Leaders working in the program and provide ongoing direction, supervision and evaluation. The Program Coordinator will assist the Recreation and Community Coordinator in establishing and implementing the annual orientation for Program Leaders and any ongoing training. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for completing administrative duties and assisting in registration for all recreation programming.

Core Responsibilities:

Assist in the planning, coordination, and delivery of recreation programs that meet the needs and interests of participants.
Provide day-to-day leadership, supervision, and support to Program Leaders, volunteers, and participants, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and positive program environment.
Ensure appropriate staff-to-participant ratios are maintained and foster positive relationships with participants, parents/guardians, staff, and the public through excellent customer service.
Complete program administration and documentation accurately and in a timely manner, while serving as a knowledgeable resource for program-related inquiries.
Support staff training and ensure compliance with all Township policies, safety procedures, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Program Planning and Event Coordinating for the following:

Seasonal Camps – PA Days, Winter Break, and March Break Camp.

Weekly and Occasional Recreation Programs:

Babysitting & Home Alone Courses, Drop-In Gym Program.

Special Community Events:

Movie Nights, Christmas at PERC, Shakespeare Christmas, Christmas in Millbank, Mini Sticks Tournaments, and our annual Family Day Event.

Qualifications and Skills:

Enrolled or completed post-secondary education for one of the following areas: Recreation and Leisure, Child and Youth Studies, or Social Services; and High School Diploma.
Current Standard First Aid and CPR C (Red Cross, Lifesaving Society, or St. John Ambulance).
Valid Class G Driver’s License.
Completion of HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development, and Quest 2 certifications considered an asset.

Working Conditions:

Workstation will be at the Perth East Recreation Complex.
Work regularly involves direct contact with the public, including children.
Programming locations will vary.
Work schedule may include evening and weekends.

Position Details:

This is a position with variable hours based on operational need, up to 25 hours per week. The schedule is varied and includes days, evenings, and weekends.
Position Start Date: September 8, 2026
2026 Hourly Pay Range - Grade 3: $20.11 - $25.14 per hour.
Optional enrollment into the OMERS Pension Plan.
