Job Description
TITLE: PRODUCTION ASSISTANT – FABRICATION REF. NO.: FPA20260703
DEPARTMENT: FABRICATION EFFECTIVE DATE: 2026.07.03
STATUS: Hourly – Bargaining Unit CLOSING DATE: 2026.07.09
SUMMARY: This position reports to the Supervisor of the department. The incumbent ensures that product is run to process and quality parameters as set up.
ROLE:
- Performs the running of the equipment set up by others
- Performs required quality checks to ensure product is in compliance and in specification
- Notifies the Lead Hand and/or Supervisor(s) of product defects or other serious occurrences
- Documents and records all necessary information/data as per work cards and other company requirements
- Performs equipment operational checks
- Performs proper housekeeping, clean-up and 5 S requirements
- Performs all duties according to safety standards and company policies
- Any other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Good mathematical skills
- Manual dexterity – ability to use common tools
- Good interpersonal and communicative skills
- Experience & knowledge of production equipment
REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge or ability to learn production processes
- Ability to meet prescribed production standards
- Ability to complete work with a high degree of accuracy
- Written and oral aptitude in English
- Min. grade 12 or equivalent education
- Conscientious and punctual
- Willing to learn
VACANCIES: 2 Afternoon – 3:15pm-11:45pm
RATE: $24.12
- Subject to assessment of skills and qualifications by Active following a 60 working days probationary period
- Shifts may vary
- Shift Premium where applicable
