Program Assistant – Child Care Resource & Referral (CCRR)

Are you
passionate about supporting families and child care providers in your
community? Do you bring creativity, organization, and a heart for connection to
your work? We’re looking for a Program Assistant to join our CCRR team — someone
who thrives on collaboration, values inclusion, and believes in the importance
of quality child care for every family.

In this role,
you’ll provide meaningful support to local child care providers and families,
facilitate playgroups, coordinate training events, and promote the CCRR program
throughout the community. Whether you’re helping a parent navigate their child care
options, creating engaging social media content, or planning a caregiver
appreciation event, your work will help build stronger, more connected
communities.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Support and engage care providers through outreach,
resources, and regular communication

Provide guidance and referrals to parents and families
seeking quality childcare

·
Coordinate and help deliver training sessions, workshops,
and community events

·
Facilitate playgroups that offer safe and enriching
experiences for children and families

·
Create compelling newsletters and social media content
that inform and inspire

·
Collaborate with a supportive team to ensure high-quality
services and community outreach

·
Maintain accurate records, reports, and data to support
program effectiveness

·
A strengths-based approach that builds relationships and
uplifts others

·
Confidence using tools like Canva to create inviting
social media content

·
Strong organizational skills and the ability to work
independently within program goals

·
Clear communication, cultural humility, and a commitment
to inclusivity

·
Strong knowledge of the BC Early Learning
Framework.

·
Comprehensive understanding of local
community care facilities regulations, child care licensing standards, and
health & safety requirements.

·
Ability to curate, organize, maintain, and
track CCRR lending library items (educational toys, themed kits, literature,
and equipment).

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Training and Experience

·
Early Childhood
Education diploma and 3 years of relevant experience

Additional Requirements:

·
Criminal
Record Check is required.

·
Current First
Aid and CPR Certificate.

·
Valid and
unrestricted Class 5 BC Driver’s License with access to a safe and reliable
vehicle.

·
Acceptable Driver’s Abstract (provided annually).

·
Position
requires Union Membership.

Shift/Schedule/Hours per week:Regular PT; 29 hours per week/ Monday to Thursday, 8:15 am - 4:30 pm. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends for workshops and events.

Wage/Salary:starting at $29.22/hour
