Role overview

SC Academy is a basketball program going into it's 2026/2027 Spring/Winter Season, with more interest from the kids we are looking to expand with the individuals that fit the criteria of a committed coach who has the passion for basketball and are qualified in doing such work.

Role Description

This is a temporary on-site seasonal (Part Time) role located in Vaughan, ON for a Head Coach Position U14 to U18. As a Coach at SC Academy, you will be responsible for developing and delivering personalized coaching alongside conducting practices to prepare your team for games and/or tournaments. Practices are three times a week (evenings/ or weekends) 6-9pm. Coaches are to attend all games scheduled.

Travelling is required to and practices and games therefor a means to transportation is necessary. In addition to offering personalized coaching & practices, you will have to be able to coordinator with the team's administrator to ensure team communication is at it's all time high with clarity so things run smoothly.

Being able to utilized apps such as "Team Snap" and or "Linkt" contribute time and efforts to team events occasionally.

Qualifications

Experience in personal or professional coaching in the basketball field
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Ability to adapt to a variety of learning styles, and customize coaching sessions to suit each individual athletes' needs
Ability to maintain confidentiality and provide a supportive and non-judgmental environment for everyone
Safe Sports Certified
G driver with or a reliable means of transportation
Able to complete a Police Background Check.
