The Team

The Accounts Payable team at BC Wildfire is a dedicated group of Financial Services Clerks based in Prince George, who play a crucial role in supporting our operations. The Role

As a Financial Services Clerk at BC Wildfire, you’ll be an essential part of our team, handling accounts payable and receivable, creating and reviewing financial documents, and providing vital administrative support. Your role is key in ensuring vendors are paid on time, which helps keep our operations running smoothly and maintains strong business relationships. You’ll have the opportunity to work both independently and as part of a team, contributing to important tasks like year-end accounting. While the job can involve managing deadlines, you'll be supported by a collaborative team dedicated to getting the job done right.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Experience working in an office setting and computerized systems.

Preference may be given to candidates with one or more of the following:

  • Training or experience in basic accounting or bookkeeping.
  • Minimum one (1) year recent experience in processing accounts payable, bookkeeping, or basic accounting.
  • Experience with Microsoft office suite including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Experience in purchase card reconciliations.
  • Experience in CFS/CAS.
  • Experience in BC Wildfire.

  • To be flexible regarding ongoing changes in responsibilities, assignments, and corporate structures.
  • To keep current on emerging issues.
  • To take in-house training and certification as required.
  • To fly in aircraft (fixed wing and rotary) as required.
  • To work extended hours, including weekends, and be on standby with limited notice in accordance with the preparedness plan.
  • To travel and/or overnight in remote locations where accommodations may vary as required.
  • To participate in Incident Command System positions as assigned.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's licence. (if relevant for position)

There are currently two (2) permanent, full time positions available in Prince George.

This position has full time on-site requirements.

An eligibility list may be established to fill both current and/or future permanent vacancies.
