Role overview

Job Summary:

The Intermediate Project Manager/Leader will oversee the implementation of Central Waitlist Management (CWM), focusing on planning the Stage 2 go-live and integration with digital assets. This role involves supporting cross-regional working groups, developing routing recommendations, and advancing program objectives to ensure a coordinated and effective approach within a complex healthcare environment.
Responsibilities:

  • Lead efforts to deliver program goals and objectives outlined in the multi-year roadmap.
  • Provide secretariat support to working groups and committees overseeing project execution.
  • Independently prepare meeting materials such as presentations, discussion documents, and briefing notes to support action-oriented discussions.
  • Participate in meetings with project sponsors and senior leadership for executive oversight.
  • Support development of high-quality project documentation including charters, business cases, and detailed project plans.
  • Engage with digital, regional, and vendor partners to establish workflows and support clinical leads in workflow development.

Required Skills & Certifications:

  • Proven project management experience with formal methodologies and core artifacts (charters, workplans, schedules, risk logs, status reports).
  • Experience with digital system implementations including referral systems, scheduling, and clinical workflows.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and align staff with program strategy.
  • Ability to build consensus, make informed decisions, and engage stakeholders effectively.
  • Minimum 3 years of healthcare or clinical setting experience.
  • Experience managing complex projects and stakeholder engagement across multiple partners.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Technology, Health Sciences, Administration, Informatics, or related discipline.
  • Master s degree in relevant fields considered an asset.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent experience.
  • 5-7 years experience in healthcare project management or process improvement.
  • Experience leading provincial or enterprise-level change management projects.
  • Experience in strategy development, health services planning, quality improvement, and system transformation.
  • Experience in a central intake scheduling environment.
  • Proven ability to work within matrix management and engage diverse stakeholders.

Special Considerations:

  • Must be able to handle complex problems requiring extensive investigation and analysis.
  • Experience facilitating interdisciplinary teams and applying change management strategies.
  • Ability to manage projects with multiple work streams and significant budgets.

Scheduling:

  • Hybrid work arrangement requiring 2-3 days onsite per week.
  • Work schedule aligned with project timelines and stakeholder meetings.
