Working in collaboration with Academic Quality and Operational Excellence and the relevant Schools and Departments, under the direction of the Manager of Learning Experience Design, you are responsible for the development of courses for numerous of programs at NAIT. Following best practices for online/blended delivery, outcomes-based education, and other relevant policies and procedures, you will collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop course plans, activities, storyboards, assessments, instructor guides, PPTs, guides for synchronous sessions and other relevant supporting course materials required for the delivery.
Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate multiple course developments
-
Provide project updates to stakeholders
-
Update and maintain project related documentation
-
Identify and request resources
-
Develop outcome-based learning content that aligns with provided course outcomes
-
Collaborate with SMEs
-
Assist in the development of deliverables and schedules
-
Design learning delivery (concepts, skills, issues, activities, assessments etc.).
-
Incorporates appropriate educational technologies
-
Create instructor guides
-
Ensure materials that are developed align with Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles and with NAIT standards
-
Work with colleagues to ensure quality and consistency is being maintained
-
Build course content developed into the current Learning Management System (LMS)
Skills & Abilities:
-
Significant knowledge of instructional design and technologies, curriculum, and course development methods and research; and pedagogical and delivery practices in online/blended teaching and learning.

Knowledge of educational technologies and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
-
Project management and technical skills.
-
Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts
-
Ability to collaborate with subject matter experts
Qualifications:
-
Post-secondary education in Education, Instructional Design or related education. A Master’s degree is preferred.

Minimum 3 years of experience in adult learning and/or instructional design or equivalent combination of formal education and experience.

Experience building courses in a Learning Management System (LMS).
-
Experience working in a post-secondary environment is an asset.

Equivalencies may be considered
Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services or the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS).
Classification – Advisor/Specialist II
This position is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement.
Remuneration: Refer to salary range noted on this posting, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
The compensation range for this job posting is: $77,690.92 - $104,216.78
