THE OPPORTUNITYWe have an opportunity for an IT Operations Administrator to join our award-winning firm in the Vancouver office.
WHAT YOU’LL DOReporting to the Supervisor, IT Operations and Service Desk, this role supports the day-to-day reliability, security, and performance of end-user computing and infrastructure services. You will execute and coordinate patching across desktops, thin clients, and servers; provide Tier 2/3 escalation support; manage certificates and authentication services; and oversee backup and recovery operations. You’ll also participate in related technology projects, working closely with the Service Desk and Infrastructure and Cybersecurity teams.
This role requires the successful candidate to work onsite five days a week.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform desktop patching and maintenance for Windows endpoints and thin clients, ensuring timely updates and minimal user disruption
Perform server patching and lifecycle maintenance for Windows and Linux systems in accordance with change and security requirements
Provide Tier 2/3 service desk escalation support, troubleshooting incidents to resolution and documenting root causes and corrective actions
Administer certificate management processes (request, renewal, deployment, and revocation) to maintain secure services and endpoints
Supervise daily backup operations and recovery readiness, including monitoring jobs, investigating failures, and supporting restore requests and testing
Manage user authentication services and access controls (including account provisioning/deprovisioning and MFA support) in alignment with security policies
Operate and support managed file transfer services, ensuring secure configurations, reliable schedules, and successful delivery of business-critical transfers
Maintain server connectivity and authentication integrations (e.g., domain services, SSO-related components), troubleshooting connectivity and trust issues across environments
Support virtualized environments and Citrix-based services, collaborating with Infrastructure teams to maintain performance and availability
Support Microsoft 365 and Azure operational tasks, including service health monitoring, configuration changes, and identity-related troubleshooting
Monitor and maintain Active Directory health

Product Knowledge – Maintain and deepen knowledge of company products, services and/or applications in order to align features, benefits, and uses to client or stakeholder needs
Troubleshooting and Problem Solving – Discover, diagnose and resolve technical issues and communicate solutions to business users to maintain smooth technology operations

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

3+ years of experience in IT operations, systems administration, and/or end-user computing support in a production environment
Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience with Microsoft Purview or similar Data Loss Prevention solution
Windows Desktop and Windows Server administration experience, including patching and operational troubleshooting
Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues at a Tier 2 level or higher, with clear incident documentation
Working knowledge of computer networking services (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, routing/switching basics, and troubleshooting connectivity)
Citrix experience supporting published apps/desktops and related infrastructure in an operational environment
Azure experience, including identity and access concepts and operational support of cloud services
Experience supporting virtualized environments and understanding the operational impacts of maintenance, capacity, and performance
Thin client management experience (configuration, patching, troubleshooting, and lifecycle support)
Microsoft 365 Admin experience, including operational support and service health awareness
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to coordinate across Service Desk and Infrastructure and Cybersecurity teams
Understanding of using CoPilot or other AI solutions in a corporate environment
Exceptional verbal and written communications skills
