About the role

The overall purpose of the position is to support the Corporate Finance function by accurately and efficiently processing and preparing financial transactions and reconciliations, and by assisting the Managers and Senior Officers with the corporate accounting, reporting, and payment requirements of HQ, country, and regional offices. The Officer builds a strong technical foundation while contributing to the accuracy, timeliness, and control of the function’s day-to-day work. In this role you will:

· Prepare and post journal entries, including month-end closing entries, for review and approval. Prepare account reconciliations, general ledger analysis, and supporting working papers.

· Process weekly and monthly Accounts Payable and other routine journal entries in NetSuite. Assists in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports and schedules.

· Prepare and enter wire transfers and other payments for review and approval. Prepare and posts bank reconciliations for review, and assists with revaluations.

· Follow-up on routine payment issues and assist with wire traces under the direction of a Manager or Senior Finance Officer.

· Assist in compiling cash flow requirement submissions from HQ and regional offices.

· Prepare account analysis, reconciliations, and working papers to support external, internal, and recipient audits, on a consolidated basis and/or for country and regional offices as required.

· Provide input into the development and standardization of processes, and identifies opportunities for improvement

Requirements

About you

You will have a University degree in accounting, finance, or business is required, together with CPA eligibility (enrolment in, or eligibility for, the CPA program) or a CPA designation in progress.

You will come with minimum of two years’ experience in an accounting environment.

Sound technical and professional knowledge of finance and accounting, especially Canadian reporting standards.

Experience with NetSuite considered an asset. Knowledge of international banking practices and foreign exchange considered an asset.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing and preparing financial transactions.

Adept at identifying process improvements and workflow efficiencies while maintaining robust internal controls.

Fluency in English is essential and working capacity in French is an advantage.
