Role overview

We are seeking a skilled PLC Programmer for a high-impact industrial automation project in the Lower Mainland. Working in collaboration with an expert engineering team, you will provide advisory-level design support and hands-on control software development for a major manufacturing application. This is a critical contract role where you will help shape the device control strategy and see the project through to successful system integration and testing.

Salary: $45 - $65 per hour.

Terms of Employment:Part Time or Full Time

Education:

Relevant degree or diploma in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

Experience:

Previous experience in industrial automation applications, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
Understanding of low-voltage controls, sensors, and networking.
Proficiency in PLC programming, including ladder logic, function block, and structured text.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide expert recommendations on device control and PLC selection during the early design phase.
Create and develop comprehensive control software once hardware specifications are finalized.
Lead troubleshooting efforts and perform iterative updates to refine process flow and eliminate error codes.
Support site automation needs and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure sustainable growth of site technologies.
