The Adult and Continuing Education Division of the Simcoe County District School Board is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Career Centre Coordinator. Reporting to the Manager of Adult and Continuing Education, the Career Centre Coordinator will be responsible for the leadership of staff, the development, implementation, performance and monitoring of services with specific accountability to the performance management of Employment Ontario programs and services, as well as community development and facilities management.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Three (3) year college diploma or university degree in human services, business, or administration, or equivalent, plus 3 years' experience in employment services, community services or business operations, preferably in a performance management framework with education or a community agency;
  • Provide leadership and expertise to the employment team in areas of assessment, case management, documentation, problem solving, intervention, crisis management, community resources, labour market, training and an understanding of the principles and ethics of counselling;
  • Coordinate programs and service delivery, ensuring funding and performance commitments are achieved and are in compliance with funding requirements;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of information technology with experience in Ministry databases for case management and reporting;
  • Demonstrated ability to priority adapt and respond to an evolving programs and the labour market;
  • The ability to work flexible hours will be required;
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • The nature of the position requires the successful candidate to have a reliable vehicle – mileage reimbursement provided at the Board established rate.

TESTING MAY BE REQUIRED DURING THE SELECTION PROCESS.

This is a permanent position that works twelve (12) months of the year. The compensation range for this twelve (12) month position is $77,400 to $96,751 per year per year, depending on qualifications and experience. This position is based on a thirty-five (35) hour work week.

Participation in the OMERS Pension Plan is mandatory for all full-time permanent employees,

even if currently in receipt of an OMERS pension.
