Agile Underwriting Solutions (Agile) has an exciting opportunity for a new Commercial Underwriter. This is a remote position based in Ontario. If you are career minded and have a passion for commercial underwriting, you’ll love working for us!
Expected Compensation: The expected hiring range for this role is $60,000 to $75,000 with a 37.5-hour work week. Your rate of pay will be determined based on your individual qualifications and experience while considering internal equity.

The opportunity:
The Commercial Underwriter will develop and grow the business by writing new business, managing a renewal portfolio and growing existing products across Canada while maintaining profitability, and delivering exceptional response times.
In this role you will:

Underwrite commercial property and casualty risks within established underwriting guidelines and authority levels.
Manage a portfolio of basic to moderately complex commercial property and casualty accounts, including coverage analysis, pricing, risk assessment, and profitability management.
Evaluate, quote, and underwrite new business opportunities submitted by broker partners.
Negotiate and underwrite renewal business to support profitability and retention objectives.
Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers while supporting local business development initiatives.
Achieve assigned monthly sales and production targets.
Deliver exceptional customer service and ensure service standards are consistently met.
Apply underwriting guidelines, company policies, and sound underwriting judgment in all decisions.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Here’s what you bring:

Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a property/casualty underwriter
Experience working for an MGA an asset
University degree or post-secondary diploma
Completion of CIP/CAIB/CRM or working towards it
Critical thinking and analysis
Excellent time management and ability to multitask
Exceptional customer service and organizational skills
Strong interpersonal skills & broker relationships
Ability to take initiative and work effectively with minimal direction
