Our client, a busy industrial recycling and processing facility in Hamilton, is looking for a detail-oriented Scale Clerk to join their team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys administrative work, has strong attention to detail, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

As the first point of contact for incoming and outgoing truck traffic, you will play an important role in ensuring all transactions are processed accurately while providing excellent customer service to drivers, vendors, and visitors.

Responsibilities

Weigh inbound and outbound trucks using computerized scale systems.
Process and issue scale tickets accurately and efficiently.
Enter shipping, receiving, and transaction data into company software.
Verify shipping and receiving documentation for accuracy and completeness.
Maintain organized records and ensure all documentation is filed correctly.
Communicate with dispatch, operations, yard personnel, and drivers regarding deliveries and pickups.
Direct truck traffic safely and efficiently throughout the facility.
Provide professional customer service to drivers, customers, and visitors.
Answer phones and respond to general administrative inquiries.
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional scale office.
Follow all company health and safety policies and procedures.
Perform additional administrative and operational duties as required.

Qualifications

Previous administrative, data entry, customer service, or scale clerk experience is considered an asset.
Strong attention to detail with excellent accuracy.
Comfortable using computers and learning new software systems.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to multitask and prioritize work in a busy environment.
Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
Able to work independently as well as part of a team.

Schedule

Candidates must be available to work rotating shifts within the following hours:

Monday to Friday:
7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
12:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Saturday:
7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (as required)

Compensation

$18.00 per hour
