Role overview
Job Description:Designs and develops all aspects of electrical control systems, equipment and machinery. Will be responsible to assist in the development, installation and technical support of PLC based hardware and software.
Reporting to:Controls Engineering Supervisor
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and draft electrical and pneumatic schematics using AutoCAD and SolidWorks Electrical.
- Develop control panel layouts and wiring diagrams.
- Collaborate with mechanical and software engineers to ensure seamless integration of control systems.
- Support assembly and testing teams during the build phase by providing troubleshooting expertise and design clarifications.
- Review and update design documentation to reflect as-built conditions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant safety standards and industry regulations.
- Robot commissioning and setup (Fanuc)
- Robot Programming and point touch ups (Fanuc)
- Vision Systems (Keyence, Cognex)
- Ultrasonics welding using Robotics
Requirements (Previous Exposure to):
- AutoCAD and SolidWorks Electrical.
- Basic understanding of electrical and pneumatic schematic design.
- Troubleshooting and debug control panels, both during the build process and post-installation.
- Familiarity with industry codes and standards (e.g., CSA, UL, NEC).
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional team environments.
Education:
Recently completed Electrical Technology Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or similar.
