Job Title:Program Coordinator – Outreach Spanish Speaking (Pending Union classification)

Status: Temporary, Full Time (Union Position)

Hours: 35 hours/ week
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM, with some evenings and weekends as required.

The Opportunity

The Program Coordinator – Outreach is responsible for implementing and overseeing outreach strategies that engage Temporary Foreign Workers (TFWs) and community partners. This role focuses on delivering information sessions, conducting on-site outreach visits, participating in cultural events and subcontractor meetings, and strengthening community partnerships. The Outreach Coordinator also works to expand program visibility and support TFWs in accessing available services and supports.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver program activities: Organize and oversee outreach activities for Temporary Foreign Workers

• Event Planning and Coordination: Plan, organize and attend events, such as workshops, health fairs and site/farm visits to promote program services and support integration.

• Resource Management: Establish and maintain an inventory of community resources and services available to clients.

• Collaboration with partners: Work closely with other program staff from Sub-Agreement Holders and stakeholders to identify emerging needs and develop responsive service strategies.

• Volunteer Coordination: Schedule, monitor, oversee and recognize volunteers working within the program.

• Provide language support/ translation to community members and partners supporting Temporary Foreign workers as needed

• Outreach and Client Attraction: Independently conduct outreach in the community to attract new clients in creative, culturally appropriate and effective ways and help promote CARE for Migrant Workers with clients and partners.

• Will be responsible for maintaining timely, accurate reports detailing participant activity and statistical information.

• Manage the rental usage of program spaces, including bookings, contracts, requirements, and keeping the calendar.

• Coordinate Sub-contractor meetings with Program Manager

• Liaises with community service providers and other professionals to coordinate service provision, facilitate referrals to the program and represent the organization or program in external events.

• Develop, Build, and maintain positive, long-term relationships with members, volunteers, and staff

• Other related duties as assigned by the manager.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Community Social Services or related human/social services field

• Minimum two (2) years relevant community services-related work experience in project coordination, administration, volunteer management, and working with vulnerable populations, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

• Written and verbal fluency in English and at a professional level.

• Fluent in Spanish

• Knowledge of the needs and issues of Temporary Foreign Workers in Canada and appropriate community resources.

• Knowledge and understanding of legislation and policies relevant to Migrant Workers in Canada.

• Ability to promote and implement education and support group services;

• Demonstrated cultural awareness in working with others;

• Sound knowledge of community resources, programs, and services.

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Demonstrated ability to coordinate and supervise volunteers;

• Working knowledge of standard office equipment and software applications

• Valid B.C. Driver’s license required. Local area travel requires the use of a personal

vehicle for which mileage reimbursement is paid.

• Availability to work frequent weekends and evenings
