POSITION SUMMARY
Join TNDC’s Mechanical Team at Red Chris Mine, where
you will play a key role in keeping our fleet and equipment operating safely
and reliably. In this hands-on role, you will use your troubleshooting and
mechanical expertise to inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair light-duty
vehicles and related equipment in a remote camp environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair light-duty
vehicles and related equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance in accordance with
manufacturer and company specifications.
- Investigate vehicle deficiencies, breakdowns, and
mechanical malfunctions.
- Repair and replace components including engines,
drivetrains, steering, suspension, braking, and electrical systems.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify
mechanical and electrical issues.
- Complete routine servicing including oil changes,
lubrication, fluid checks, and inspections.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders,
and repair documentation.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance
with company policies and procedures.
- Communicate equipment status, repair requirements, and
maintenance needs to supervisors.
- Participate in toolbox meetings, safety meetings, and
required training programs.
- Assist with fleet inspections and equipment readiness
initiatives.
- Support continuous improvement efforts within the
maintenance department.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Licensed Automotive Service Technician required; Red
Seal (Interprovincial Certification) considered an asset.
- Experience maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing
gasoline and diesel-powered light-duty vehicles.
- Ford F150–F550 experience considered an asset.
- Experience working in mining, industrial,
construction, or heavy industry environments is preferred.
- Proficient with diagnostic software, scanners, testing
equipment, fleet maintenance systems, and repair documentation.
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems, including
engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, braking, electrical, and HVAC
systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals,
schematics, service bulletins, and diagnostic reports.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, analytical, and
troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs, fleet
maintenance practices, and workplace safety standards.
- Strong organizational, time management, recordkeeping,
and documentation skills with a high attention to detail.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with
the ability to work collaboratively across departments and trades.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing
priorities, and adapt to changing operational requirements in a fast-paced
environment.
- Ability to safely work in a remote mining or
industrial setting, including lifting up to 50 lbs. and working 12-hour shifts.
- OFA and WHMIS certifications are considered assets.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, environmental
stewardship, teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to mentor, train, and share technical
knowledge with apprentices, trainees, and coworkers.

Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to team
members, especially local Tahltan workers, by sharing technical skills, safety
practices, and industry knowledge in a respectful and culturally aware manner.
