Location & Hours:
This is a field position that travels between multiple locations in Burlington and Oakville, Ontario.
Hours of work - approximately 20 - 30 hours per week, weekdays, weekends and evenings.
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Maintenance Technician supports the ongoing maintenance and repairs at multiple restaurant locations. The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining restaurant equipment and building systems to ensure our restaurants operate safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to our guests and team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Repairs and maintains a wide range of restaurant equipment, walk-in freezers/coolers, ice machines, ovens, and other kitchen appliances.
- Performs general building maintenance tasks, such as, painting, tiling, and non-structural repairs.
- Performs deep cleaning tasks such as power washing.
- Implements and follows preventative maintenance procedures to minimize downtime and ensure equipment longevity.
- Will eventually diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions in restaurant equipment and systems.
- Responds promptly to emergency service calls for repairs.
- Develops a work schedule to minimize the impact on customer service and restaurant operations.
- Ensures a safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols and identifying potential hazards.
- Maintains accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and replacements.
- Communicates effectively with restaurant staff and management regarding maintenance needs and issues.
- Manages and orders replacement parts and equipment as needed.
- Moves heavy equipment and supplies
- Performs general landscaping and property maintenance
Qualifications:
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot issues effectively.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting (up to 50 lbs) and climbing.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures
- 2 – 3 years of relevant experience
- Must have valid driver’s license, access to reliable transportation
- Applicants must have and transport their own tools suitable for general maintenance work
- Ability to self-regulate and work independently
REQUIREMENTS
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Authorized to work in Canada
- Flexible availability is required
