Are you an experienced construction business development professional who enjoys building relationships, identifying opportunities, and helping drive company growth?
Our client is an established Design-Build General Contractor specializing in Industrial, Commercial and Institutional (ICI) construction throughout Southwestern Ontario. As the company continues to grow, they are seeking a Business Development & Marketing Specialist to strengthen client relationships, expand their network, and support their overall marketing strategy.
This role is ideal for someone with existing experience in construction business development who understands how projects are won, how relationships are built, and how marketing supports long-term growth.
What You'll Do
Business Development
- Develop and maintain relationships with owners, developers, consultants, architects, engineers, and industry partners.
- Identify and pursue new project opportunities throughout Southwestern Ontario.
- Support the preparation of proposals, qualification packages, presentations, and client submissions.
- Research upcoming projects, market trends, and procurement opportunities.
- Attend networking events, industry associations, and client meetings.
- Maintain and manage the company's CRM and business development pipeline.
- Coordinate follow-up activities to strengthen existing and prospective client relationships.
- Collaborate with leadership to execute strategic business development initiatives.
Marketing
- Act as the primary liaison with the company's external social media and digital marketing agency.
- Coordinate project photography, videos, employee spotlights, and company news for publication.
- Provide content, project updates, and direction to support digital marketing campaigns.
- Assist with website updates, brochures, capability statements, and promotional materials.
- Coordinate award submissions, sponsorships, trade shows, and community events.
- Monitor marketing performance and provide feedback to ensure campaigns align with business development objectives.
What We're Looking For
- Previous business development experience within the construction industry is required.
- Experience working for a General Contractor, Construction Manager, Design-Build firm, engineering firm, architectural practice, subcontractor, or construction supplier.
- Established understanding of the ICI construction market and relationship-based selling.
- Excellent networking, communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational and project coordination abilities.
- Experience supporting proposals, prequalification packages, and marketing initiatives.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM software.
- Experience coordinating with external marketing agencies is considered an asset.
- Valid driver's licence with the ability to attend client meetings, project sites, and industry events.
