Job Overview:

The Project Manager will manage the implementation of clinically focused information technology projects. This may include managing multiple complex projects simultaneously with many stakeholders and complex needs. The Project Manager will report to the Director of Citizen and Referral Services and will provide the required decision and project management support to ensure projects stay on time and on budget with high-quality deliverables.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will undertake the subsequent tasks and responsibilities, which include but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage, schedule, and coordinate all aspects of the project over the entire project lifecycle.
  • Support an effective, proactive cross-functional project team that may consist of both management and non-management individuals in an environment that encourages innovation, teamwork, initiative, and open communication while modeling corporate values.
  • Maintain a high level of competency in project management-related disciplines.
  • Assist project team members in successful project implementation, project planning, project management, change management, transition, and communications.
  • Monitor and report project progress to the project team, steering committee, and sponsors.
  • Communicate to all levels of stakeholders using appropriate methods in a timely manner, ensuring a common understanding by setting expectations in accordance with the project plan.
  • Provide delivery oversight to requirements gathering, detailed design, and future state development.
  • Lead, direct, and manage project staff to ensure the effective use of resources, maximizing performance by developing, mentoring, and prioritizing work.

Mandatory Resource Qualifications/Requirements:

The candidate must have the following qualifications and requirements:

  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) designation.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in managing large-scale (provincial or equivalent in scope) IT software or infrastructure projects.

Rated Resource Qualifications/Requirements:

The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Post-secondary degree in Business Administration or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience driving project management in a busy, multifaceted environment.
  • Previous experience in managing large-scale IT software or infrastructure projects.
  • Previous experience in organizational change management.
  • Previous experience working in a healthcare environment.
  • Proven experience utilizing project planning and estimating skills.
  • Ability to create and manage work breakdown structures (WBS).
  • Familiarity with current IT platforms and methodologies and understanding of how they will be utilized for this role.
  • Knowledge of IT support environment processes and the use of information systems.
  • Previous experience working collaboratively with IT and non-IT stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work independently or within a team in a fast-paced and at times unstructured environment with changing priorities.
  • Advanced computer skills, including but not limited to MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, Visio), with strong detail orientation and skill in developing presentations, reports, and documentation.
  • Strong capability in establishing and maintaining excellent interpersonal relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex information utilizing plain language.
  • Ability to quickly grasp and understand technical concepts and systems.
  • Excellent multitasking, facilitation, troubleshooting, time management, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, result-oriented, customer-focused, and possess strong interpersonal and team orientation.
