The Ahkwesahsne Mohawk Board of Education (AMBE) was created in 1985 by the Mohawk Council ofAkwesasne (MCA). AMBEis responsibleforprovidingeducationaland Child Care servicesto the Akwesasne Mohawk Community,including; 3 ChildCare Centers and3Schools that offerK4to Grade8education;coordination of secondary education service in partnership with local school boards; adult educationservices; and post-secondary assistance. The Akwesasne Mohawk Community includes about 13,000 Peoples, and borders ontheCanadian Provinces ofOntarioandQuebecandtheAmericanStateofNew York.

Position Summary:

The Native Resource Teacher will provide direct a cademic support to improve the level of academic achievement for students.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or Degree Programme in Education or a related field
  • Two(2) years experience in a related field
  • High school Mathematics qualifications/experience at gr 9-12 level with strong emphasis on the grade 12 U Math courses.
  • High school Science qualifications/experience gr 9-12
