Role overview
Human Resources Business Partner / Human Resources Manager
Why You Will Love This Organization
Our client is a well-established, global industrial manufacturing organization with a strong presence in Canada and an exciting trajectory for growth. Operating in a fast-paced environment that supports critical industries, the organization combines the resources and stability of an international business with the close-knit culture of a collaborative Canadian leadership team.
This is an opportunity to join a respected organization where your contributions will be highly visible. As the dedicated HR professional supporting a manufacturing site, you will have the autonomy to make an impact, partner directly with operational leaders, and play a key role in supporting both employees and business performance.
The Impact You Will Have
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced HR professional who enjoys working independently while serving as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees. As the sole Human Resources representative at the site, you will oversee the full employee lifecycle, support payroll and benefits administration, ensure legislative compliance, and help create a positive workplace culture. Your ability to balance operational excellence with strategic partnership will directly contribute to the organization's continued success.
What You Will Do
- Serve as the primary Human Resources contact for a Canadian manufacturing facility.
- Partner closely with plant leadership to provide day-to-day HR guidance and support.
- Manage employee relations, performance management, recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding activities.
- Administer Canadian payroll using ADP and Workday (training provided if required).
- Coordinate employee benefits, pension administration, and leave management.
- Support workplace health and safety initiatives, including WSIB administration and regulatory reporting.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation, company policies, and HR best practices.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR reporting.
- Collaborate with global HR colleagues to align processes and share best practices where appropriate.
- Participate as a member of the Canadian leadership team, contributing to business initiatives and workforce planning.
- Balance approximately 70% operational responsibilities with 30% strategic HR activities.
What You Will Bring
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline.
- Several years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably within a manufacturing, industrial, or operations environment.
- Experience managing multiple HR functions independently in a generalist capacity.
- Payroll administration experience; familiarity with ADP and/or Workday is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of Canadian employment legislation, HR best practices, and workplace compliance requirements.
- Experience administering employee benefits and supporting health and safety initiatives.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to partner effectively with operational leaders.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and exercise sound judgment.
- CHRP designation is considered an asset but is not required.
Work Environment
- Full-time, permanent position.
- Primarily based on-site at a manufacturing facility in the Hamilton, Ontario area.
- Remote work flexibility is available during payroll processing periods (approximately three days every two weeks) and when privacy is required for virtual meetings.
- Regular presence on the production floor is required; appropriate personal protective equipment will be provided.
- Occasional flexibility is available for personal appointments while maintaining operational support for the site.
If you are looking for an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a standalone HR role while partnering with an experienced leadership team, we encourage you to apply today.

USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE – BY RECRUITERS & HIRING MANAGERS
At The Talent Company, people are at the centre of our recruitment process. While we may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools for limited administrative purposes (such as writing creative outreach messages, summarizing interview notes or transcribing reference checks), AI is never the decision maker. Our recruiters personally review resumes and candidate information, and all hiring decisions are made by people who bring judgment, care, and expertise to each match.
If a client's recruitment process involves a greater degree of AI use during their own interviews or assessments, we will communicate that to shortlisted candidates so they are aware in advance. Our commitment is to use technology responsibly, while ensuring fairness, transparency, and respect at every stage of the process.
USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE – BY CANDIDATES
We recognize that candidates may choose to use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support their job search, for example, to refine writing style or gather research. While this can be appropriate, the information you provide in your resume, screening questions, and interviews must always be truthful and accurately reflect your own experience, knowledge, and competencies. AI should never be used to create or exaggerate credentials.
Our goal is to understand the real you—your skills, your story, and your potential—so that we can make the best possible match between you and the organizations we serve.
ACCOMMODATION & INCLUSIVITY
At The Talent Company, we recognize the value of different perspectives and experiences in prompting innovation, sparking creativity, and solving problems. As an equal employment opportunity organization, we do not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment based on race, Aboriginal peoples, members of visible minorities, sex, age, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, persons with disabilities, or any other category protected by law.
We are committed to Equal Opportunities and welcome applications from all sections of the community. Please let us know by emailing lauren.maharaj@thetalent.co if an adjustment or adaptation is required at any stage to support you during the recruitment journey.
