Position Details:

Position:Full Time Security Team Lead

Site:Seneca Polytechnic - Newnham Campus

Overtime Method: Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Hours:Continental Rotation - 0630-1830/1830-0630

Pay Rate:$23.00 - $24.50/ an hour

Job Description:

As Team Lead at Seneca Polytechnic, you’ll play a pivotal role in maintaining a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment in a campus that thrives on diversity and collaboration. Your leadership ensures the best experience for students, staff, and visitors.

• Supervise and coordinate Security Guard activities in academic buildings, residence, and event spaces
• Cross-campus learning and collaboration with our partners
• Assign and monitor patrols, access control, and incident response
• Foster cross-functional teamwork with our campus partners
• Lead incident investigations and ensure timely, accurate reporting
• Provide frontline support during special events, guest speakers, and high-profile campus activities
• Mentor new staff and deliver in-service training
• Ensure adherence to Seneca security policies
• Support a welcoming and inclusive team culture

Qualifications

• Legally Authorized to Work in Canada
• Ontario Security Guard License
• WSIB Approved Standard First Aid and CPR Level C
• Strong communication skills and an upbeat, professional attitude
• Ability to handle fast-paced, diverse campus demands
• Prior post-secondary or healthcare security experience an asset
• Minimum 1 year of Security Leadership experience
• Bilingual/multilingual skills are a plus
• Must not be a current Seneca student at Newnham
• Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)

• Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB certification program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
• Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB Certification is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
