Host / Hostess

Sumu Restaurant is an innovative dining concept focused on revolutionizing the restaurant experience through creativity, culture, technology, and community. We are building more than just a restaurant — we are creating a brand and movement that connects people through unforgettable food and experiences.

We are looking for friendly, energetic, and outgoing Hosts/Hostesses to join our team at our downtown Vancouver location. As the first and last impression of the restaurant, you play a huge role in creating a welcoming and memorable experience for every guest.

A smile, positive energy, and great attitude are a must.

Responsibilities

Greet guests warmly and create a welcoming first impression

Manage reservations, waitlists, and guest seating efficiently

Maintain smooth front door flow and communication with the service team

Answer phone calls and assist guests with inquiries professionally

Provide exceptional customer service with a positive and friendly attitude

Help maintain cleanliness and organization of the front entrance and waiting areas

Support the front of house team during busy service periods

Ensure guests feel valued and taken care of from arrival to departure

Qualifications

Previous restaurant or customer service experience is an asset

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Positive attitude with a friendly and outgoing personality

Must be welcoming, professional, and guest focused

Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast paced environment

Strong teamwork and problem solving skills

Reliable and punctual

Flexible availability including evenings and weekends
