Role overview
Job Summary
Perform hands-on processing tasks in a seafood production environment to maintain product quality and safety. Work collaboratively with the production team while following established procedures and sanitation standards.

Main Duties
- Sort, grade and inspect fish and seafood for quality and size according to production guidelines.
- Perform manual processing tasks such as cleaning, gutting, de-heading, shelling, trimming or filleting as instructed.
- Operate and monitor basic processing and packaging equipment under supervision, and assist with changeovers.
- Weigh, pack, label and prepare processed product for storage or shipment, ensuring accurate documentation.
- Maintain clean and sanitary work areas by washing equipment, surfaces and disposing of waste according to procedures.
- Record production quantities, report quality or safety issues to supervisors, and assist with inventory handling and staging.
Requirements
- Secondary school diploma or equivalent preferred; on-the-job training available.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks and lift or carry moderate loads.
- Ability to work in cold, wet or refrigerated environments typical of seafood processing facilities.
- Basic reading, writing and numeracy skills to follow instructions, read labels and complete production records.
- Willingness to follow food safety, sanitation and workplace safety procedures and to complete required training.
- Reliable attendance, punctuality and the ability to work cooperatively as part of a team.
