Job Description:Reporting to the Manager of Mental Health and Addictions, the incumbent will provide specialized psychiatric nursing care, including all aspects of the nursing process to patients experiencing a broad range of psychiatric, social and medical problems. In addition, provides staff supervision and assumes periodic charge nurse responsibilities.

Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing (BPN)

Other Education and Training

Psychiatric Nursing diploma is acceptable
Bachelor of Nursing is acceptable
Nursing diploma is acceptable

Knowledge and Abilities

Knowledge of the the Provincial Mental Health Services Act and Regulations
Competency in psychiatric nursing assessments, care planning & treatment
The ability to demonstrate excellent working knowledge of psychiatric conditions
Knowledge of commonly used psychotropic medications
Ability to be flexible and willing to change
