Title: Implementation Specialist - Senior Linux and Cloud Engineer

Reports to:Technical Services Manager

Based at:1145 Innovation Drive, Kanata, ON, with potential for weekly travel to customer sites.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Implementation Specialist – Senior Linux and Cloud Engineer to join our Professional Services team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing enterprise-grade Linux systems and cloud-based solutions (AWS, Azure, or GCP). You will play a key role in driving automation, performance, security, and scalability across hybrid infrastructures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and maintain Linux-based infrastructure in both on-prem and cloud environments.
  • Build and manage highly available, secure, and scalable cloud architectures.
  • Deploy and manage Kubernetes environments and supporting software.
  • Automate system provisioning, configuration management, and application deployment using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or similar.
  • Monitor systems performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize resource utilization.
  • Collaborate with developers, DevOps, and security teams to deliver infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Implement robust backup, disaster recovery, and patch management strategies.
  • Ensure systems comply with organizational security and compliance standards.
  • Document infrastructure, configurations, and procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on Linux systems administration experience (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.).
  • 3+ years of experience managing cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
  • Strong experience with automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Dynatrace, Morpheus, Prometheus, etc.). is a plus.
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a strong plus.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.

Beneficial Qualifications

  • Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Azure Administrator Associate).
  • Kubernetes certifications such as CKA, CKS.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
  • Exposure to security best practices and compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, etc).
  • Experience in air-gapped environments.
