Job Description

Ready for a new adventure in Northern Ontario? Are you an experienced pharmacist looking for exceptional compensation, professional autonomy, and the opportunity to make a real impact in an independent pharmacy? We are seeking a Pharmacy Manager to join a well-established independent community pharmacy located in the North Bay area of Ontario. The pharmacy is situated just west of North Bay — close enough to enjoy the amenities of the city while offering the opportunity to work in a welcoming community outside the urban centre. And because we know that relocating or travelling for the right opportunity matters, we're prepared to make the transition easier.

About the Pharmacy

This is an independent community pharmacy where the Pharmacy Manager can have a genuine impact on the way the pharmacy operates. With approximately 150–200 prescriptions per day, this is an active pharmacy environment offering a good balance between clinical responsibility, patient interaction, and operational leadership. You will have the opportunity to build relationships with patients, contribute to the pharmacy's growth, and become an important part of the local healthcare community.

Your Responsibilities

As Pharmacy Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy
  • Ensuring safe and accurate prescription dispensing
  • Providing medication counselling and clinical services
  • Managing pharmacy workflow and inventory
  • Supervising and supporting pharmacy staff
  • Ensuring compliance with Ontario pharmacy regulations and professional standards
  • Providing high-quality patient care
  • Managing and supporting methadone-related pharmacy services
  • Building strong relationships with patients and healthcare professionals
  • Contributing to the continued growth and success of the pharmacy
  • Maintaining a positive, professional, and patient-focused environment

What We're Looking For

  • Licensed Pharmacist in Ontario
  • Previous community pharmacy experience
  • Previous Pharmacy Manager or leadership experience strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario pharmacy regulations and standards
  • Experience with methadone dispensing/services
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and leadership abilities
  • Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of pharmacy operations
  • Patient-focused mindset
  • Ability to work effectively in a busy community pharmacy

What We Offer

  • CAD $75–$80/hour
  • CAD $156,000–$166,400/year based on 40 hours/week
  • Sign-on bonus
  • Reasonable travel and accommodation support
  • Full-time Pharmacy Manager position
  • Opportunity to take a leadership role in an independent pharmacy
  • Strong level of professional autonomy
  • Established patient base
  • Approximately 150–200 prescriptions per day
  • Opportunity to work closely with the local community
  • Methadone services

Schedule

The pharmacy operates 7 days a week, with the following hours:

  • Monday–Sunday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Saturday/Sunday: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM

The exact schedule and rotation will be discussed with the successful candidate.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

This isn't simply another Pharmacy Manager position. We're looking for someone who wants strong compensation, autonomy, and the opportunity to become an important part of a community — while receiving practical support to make travelling or relocating easier. With compensation of up to CAD $166,400/year, a sign-on bonus, and travel/accommodation assistance, this opportunity is particularly well suited to pharmacists who are open to exploring opportunities outside. If you're an experienced pharmacist ready for a change and interested in a high-paying Pharmacy Manager opportunity in Northern Ontario, we'd love to hear from you.
