Role overview
The National Portfolio Manager is the direct link to a portfolio of suppliers nationally, and is responsible for development of strategic business plans, ensuring alignment with APL strategic objectives, as well executing objectives that contribute to profit targets/margins and long-term marketing share for Andrew Peller’s national import portfolio across channels in Canada.
This is a 6 month contract role.
This teammate will be responsible for:
Responsible for the development of a national brand strategy for each brand and supplier they represent adhering to provincial laws and legislation.
Works closely with regional sales managers and acts as the liaison between supplier representatives and API.
Responsible for Below the Line (BTL) activities and budgets (promotions, POS, merchandising, on-trade activities) and National above the Line (ATL) plans within the designated annual brand budget in collaboration with supplier partners
Generates business reports and presentations with a clear objective of identifying any opportunities to develop overall business.
Provide prompt response to national sales or supplier requests.
Brand ambassador, an advocate of brand training, education, and awareness to national staff.
Responsible for listing presentations and process of new products and packs.
May be asked to perform other ancillary or related duties as required, to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
The skills, knowledge and experience this teammate will bring:
Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Commerce with specialization in Marketing preferred.
Minimum of 5 years trade Marketing experience combined with experience/knowledge of premium wine industry (products, channels) a significant asset.
Ability to think strategically, analytically, and creatively; ability to work under tight timelines & stressful situations.
Exemplary leadership & customer service skills.
Maintenance of privileged and confidential information relating to API sales & revenue growth opportunities.
Proficient in Microsoft platform, Excel and Word Need to have ability to learn internal Marketing/Sales database (Tableau).
Familiar with Illustrator or similar design program.
Some evening & weekend work related to the wine industry, travel within Canada and occasionally internationally.
Compensation: $85,000 - $95,000 annually.
