Job Description:

Our client is seeking talented Mechanical Engineers to join their Advanced Engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design, development, testing, and commissioning of next-generation battery-electric mining equipment. Working within a multidisciplinary engineering environment, you will play a key role in developing innovative mechanical systems from concept through to prototype and production while helping shape the future of sustainable mining technology.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mechanical systems for battery-electric mining equipment
  • Produce detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings
  • Support the design, testing, validation, and commissioning of mechanical systems
  • Prepare technical documentation including BOMs, design reports, drawings, and engineering documentation
  • Review mechanical designs to ensure functionality, safety, manufacturability, and reliability
  • Collaborate with electrical, systems, firmware, and manufacturing teams to achieve complete system integration
  • Participate in prototype development, assembly, testing, and continuous product improvement
  • Identify technical risks and develop practical engineering solutions
  • Research, evaluate, and source mechanical components and materials
  • Maintain accurate engineering documentation and CAD/PLM data

Skills and Qualifications: Must-have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes
  • Experience with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, or similar
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • Meticulous attention to detail and high-quality documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a multidisciplinary engineering team

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with prototype design, testing, and product development
  • Knowledge of FEA, DFMEA, or engineering validation processes
  • Understanding of hydraulic, thermal management, or cooling systems
  • Familiarity with PLM systems and engineering change processes
  • Experience preparing manufacturing drawings and technical reports

To really impress:

  • Experience designing battery-electric vehicles (BEVs), mobile equipment, or heavy machinery
  • Knowledge of automotive or mining industry standards
  • Experience with system integration involving electrical and mechanical components
  • Familiarity with CANbus communication systems
  • Exposure to functional safety, simulation tools, or multidisciplinary product development
