About SCWIST
The Society for Canadian Women in Science and Technology (SCWIST) is a national non-profit organization working to create an environment where girls, women and gender-diverse individuals in Canada can pursue their interests, education, and careers in STEM without barriers. Our mission is grounded in values of empowerment, inclusion, inspiration, connection, and sustainability. We provide mentorship, leadership development, and outreach programs that encourage participation and excellence in STEM. Through advocacy and partnerships, we work to remove systemic barriers, build inclusive networks, and support long-term career advancement in STEM fields.
Position Overview
SCWIST is seeking a strategic and equity-driven Project Manager to lead initiatives in our Policy, Advocacy, and Research team. The initiatives include STEM Together, a national research and training initiative funded through the Skills for Success program, our System Change initiative fund through WAGE, and our Youth National STEM Expo. In partnership with key stakeholders, these projects explore systemic barriers in STEM employment while providing targeted skills training for underrepresented groups including girls, women and gender-diverse individuals who are Indigenous, racialized, 2SLGBTQI+, or newcomers.
The ideal candidate will be a strategic project manager with a talent for guiding complex work plans to fruition, fostering strong, relational partnerships, and ensuring projects are delivered with care, accountability, and impact. They have a vision for long-term, reciprocal collaboration and a commitment to nurturing relationships that extend beyond transactional exchanges. With a passion for SCWIST’s mission and a deep commitment to supporting girls, women, gender-diverse people, equity-deserving, and underrepresented communities in STEM, they will work closely with SCWIST staff, partners, and stakeholders to cultivate shared learning, support, and impact throughout every phase of the project.
