Position: Human Resources Coordinator

Term:Full-Time (35 hours per week)
Salary Range:$45,400- $53,360

We are currently seeking a Human Resources Coordinator for any of our offices in Sault Ste. Marie, Dryden, Hamilton, Timmins, Peterborough, Sudbury, North Bay, Toronto, or Ottawa locations.
This is a highly engaging and rewarding role for an motivated Human Resources professional looking to join a dedicated team. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible to provide support to OAHS regarding all Human Resources matters.

Duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:
1. Human Resources Administration & Program Delivery
-
Program Implementation: Ability to assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring foundational HR programs, including benefits, compensation/salary administration, job evaluation, training, and occupational health and safety.

Full-Cycle Recruitment & Talent Acquisition: Proficient in coordinating the end-to-end recruitment process—from drafting job postings and screening resumes to conducting interviews, managing reference/background checks, and onboarding.

Employee Relations & Communications: Strong capability to draft clear employee communications, advise staff on workplace policies, working conditions, and promotion opportunities, and support positive employee relations, including disciplinary and offboarding processes.
2. Payroll & Benefits Management
-
Payroll Collaboration & Compliance:Demonstrated ability to work hand-in-hand with the payroll team to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant end-to-end processing, including the execution of post-payroll procedures and management of statutory deductions.

Benefits & Retirement Administration: Competent in the day-to-day administration of employee benefits packages and Group RSP plans.

Technical Systems Proficiency: Experience utilizing internal Business Management Systems (BMS) or Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) to process payroll, benefits, and financial data.
3. Compliance, Integrity & Risk Management

Legislative & Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of, and commitment to, ensuring compliance with all applicable federal and provincial employment legislation, employment standards, and health and safety regulations.

Confidentiality & Discretion: Utmost integrity and proven ability to handle sensitive, personal, and highly confidential HR and payroll data with absolute discretion.
4. Strategic Operations Support & Leadership

Operational Planning Support: Ability to actively contribute to planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and evaluating the overall efficiency of HR and payroll operations.

Administrative Excellence: Strong organizational skills to manage high-volume HR/payroll record-keeping, draft formal reports, letters, and presentations, and provide comprehensive administrative support to the department.

Adaptability: Flexibility to manage shifting priorities and successfully execute "other duties as assigned" to support overall team goals.
To qualify for this role, the successful candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:

Cultural Alignment: Knowledge of and an appreciation for Indigenous culture and a values system that believes in holistic wellness and in assisting people to become and stay safely housed.

Education & Professional Designation: * Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A completed CHRP/CHRL designation, or actively working toward one, is considered an asset.

HR & Recruitment Expertise: 2–3 years of progressive, relevant HR experience, with demonstrated proficiency in full-cycle talent acquisition (from sourcing to onboarding), employee relations, performance support, and foundational compensation and training programs.

Payroll & Benefits Administration:Proven experience working hand in hand with Finance and Payroll to manage payroll processing and legislative compliance, while overseeing the day-to-day administration of employee benefits packages and Group RSP plans.

Technical Systems Proficiency: Hands-on experience utilizing Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), Payroll platforms (previous experience with Rise is considered an asset), and internal Business Management Systems (BMS) to process sensitive financial and personnel data.

Legislative & Regulatory Compliance: Deep operational knowledge of all applicable provincial and federal legislation, including the Employment Standards Act, Ontario Human Rights Code, Pay Equity Act, and Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Administrative Excellence & Data Management: Superior organizational skills equipped to handle high-volume HR/payroll record-keeping, draft formal reports and communications, and provide efficient operational support.

Integrity & Discretion: High emotional intelligence with a proven track record of handling highly sensitive, personal, and confidential HR and payroll information with strict discretion.

Adaptability & Collaboration: Highly adaptable professional with the agility to manage shifting operational priorities, multi-task effectively, and collaboratively execute diverse tasks to support overall team goals.
