Optical Lab Technician

We are seeking a detail-oriented Optical Lab Technician to join our clients team on a temporary basis in Dartmouth, NS. In this hands-on production role, you will be responsible for supporting the optical manufacturing process by preparing, edging, mounting, and inspecting lenses and frames to ensure quality standards are met.

Please note: this is a contract role for 7 weeks, with possible extension based on business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, sort, and organize lenses and frames.
• Perform tray-up and tray-out activities throughout the production process.
• Read and interpret work tickets and prescriptions to accurately assign orders to the appropriate workstation or service.
• Complete lens tracing and blocking procedures.
• Operate edging equipment and process specialty lens orders.
• Mount lenses into frames with precision and care.
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality and prescription specifications.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow company procedures and quality standards throughout the production process.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is considered an asset.
• Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
• Ability to follow written instructions and work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable performing repetitive tasks while maintaining quality standards.
• Previous experience in manufacturing, production, or an optical environment is an asset but not required.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work collaboratively as part of a team.
