Role overview

Position

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Wellness to lead the delivery of resident health and personal care services within a senior living environment. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality care, regulatory compliance, and a positive experience for residents and their families, while providing strong clinical leadership to the care team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee resident care, including assessments and individualized care planning
  • Delegate, assign, and evaluate nursing team activities
  • Ensure delivery of safe, high-quality health and personal care services
  • Maintain accurate and compliant clinical documentation
  • Coordinate and participate in care conferences as needed
  • Review pre-admission assessments and support move-in and transition processes
  • Monitor and communicate changes in resident health status
  • Oversee medication administration, treatments, and physician orders
  • Coordinate lab, diagnostic, and pharmacy-related services
  • Manage incident reporting, risk, and regulatory compliance
  • Lead infection prevention and control initiatives
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and evaluate nursing staff
  • Provide ongoing coaching and professional development
  • Build strong relationships with residents and families, addressing concerns effectively
  • Coordinate with external service providers and healthcare partners

Job Qualifications

  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (RN or RPN)
  • Eligible to practice in Ontario (if registered in another province)
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification
  • 3–5 years of leadership experience in senior living or a similar clinical environment
  • Strong knowledge of applicable healthcare regulations and standards
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Commitment to resident-centered care and high-quality service delivery

Additional Requirements:

  • Vulnerable Sector Check (recent or willingness to obtain)
  • TB test or chest X-ray as required
  • Two supervisory references
  • Proof of required vaccinations
