We are hiring Swim Instructors across five Ottawa locations:Kanata, Nepean-Bayshore, Nepean-Bells Corners, Ottawa East, and Orleans. Apply once and tell us which location works best for you. No need to apply separately for each pool.

TEACHING HERE IS DIFFERENT

At most swim schools, you are one instructor in a row of lanes, teaching group lessons on a fixed rotation. You barely know your students' names by the end of the season.

At The Aqua Life Swim Academy, the majority of our lessons are private and semi-private. That means you get to actually know your swimmers. You know which child needs encouragement and which one needs a challenge. You know when a parent is anxious and how to put them at ease. You see real progress, lesson by lesson, because you are there for every step of it.

That is the kind of teaching that stays with you.

WHO WE ARE

The Aqua Life Swim Academy is a boutique private swim school with locations across Ottawa. We teach children and adults how to swim in a high-quality, personal environment. Our mission is to educate and motivate individuals to be safer in and around the water and to inspire a lifelong love of swimming.

We have openings at five Ottawa locations: Kanata, Nepean-Bayshore, Nepean-Bells Corners, Ottawa East, and Orleans. We are posting one job because we want to make it easy for you. Tell us which location works for you and we will take it from there.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Deliver swim lessons to children and adults of all ages and ability levels
Assess each swimmer's ability and create a personalized progression plan within our curriculum
Adapt your teaching approach to the individual in front of you, not every child learns the same way
Build genuine relationships with your swimmers and their families
Communicate progress clearly and regularly with parents after every lesson
Maintain accurate records of attendance and swimmer progress
Create a safe, positive, and encouraging environment at every single lesson
Model and uphold water safety standards at all times

WHO YOU ARE

The right instructor for Aqua Life is not just technically strong in the water. They are warm, patient, and genuinely invested in the people they teach. They show up on time, every time. They communicate well with parents without being prompted. And they leave every swimmer feeling better about themselves than when they arrived.

Certifications required:

Valid National Lifeguard certification
Standard First Aid with CPR-C
Swim Instructor certification an asset (LSS or equivalent)
Vulnerable Sector Check (required for 18 years and older)
Eligibility to work in Canada

What else we are looking for:

Genuine passion for teaching and water safety
Strong ability to connect with swimmers of all ages, from toddlers to adults
Clear, professional communication with parents and team members
Reliable and punctual, our families count on you
Competitive swimming background, an asset but not required
