Project Description

As part of the City of Toronto's modernization strategy, the Enterprise Work Management Solution (EWMS) Program is a coordinated initiative to transform work management through:

Integrated work management processes
Common technology platforms
Workflow automation
Standardized best practices
Cross-divisional enterprise integration

The City has procured and is implementing an Enterprise Work Management Solution based on IBM Maximo, which will be shared and integrated across multiple divisions.

The Technical Architect will provide technical leadership, architecture guidance, and implementation support related to Maximo configuration and deployment.

Role Overview

The Work Management System Lead will support:

EWMS Program
WP-ECF Project Teams
Vendor Implementation Teams

The resource will act as the City's primary technical subject matter expert for enterprise work management solutions and IBM Maximo implementation.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

Graduate Degree or higher in:
Engineering
Information Technology

Certifications

IBM Certified Maximo Professional

Experience

15+ years Work Management Systems implementation experience
10+ years Maximo application development and implementation experience
10+ years leading full lifecycle work management solution implementations
5+ years Public Sector experience
5+ years experience as a Technology/Infrastructure Architect

Maximo architecture and implementation

Assignment Duties

The consultant will be responsible for:

Technical Architecture

Provide technical architecture leadership and design guidance.
Lead functional and technical aspects of solution implementation.
Ensure quality and consistency of Maximo implementations.
Design custom applications and integrations.

Enterprise Work Management Strategy

Develop work management architecture frameworks.
Create technical strategy and standards.
Develop architecture decision documents.
Align divisional business processes to enterprise architecture.

Architecture Governance

Manage enterprise architecture configurations.
Support infrastructure architecture decisions.
Promote shared enterprise solutions.
Ensure alignment with City business and IT strategies.

Technical Optimization

Recommend operational improvements.
Support performance optimization initiatives.
Participate in root cause analysis activities.

Data Migration & Conversion

Lead legacy data conversion strategies.
Define migration architectures.
Create data mapping specifications.
Support migration implementation activities.

Testing & Quality Assurance

Support test strategy development.
Assist with functional testing activities.
Support application and unit testing.
Validate solution quality and readiness.

Maximo Subject Matter Expertise

Act as Maximo Technical SME for ECF implementation.
Support project and program teams.
Ensure successful Maximo deployment outcomes.
