Compensation Details:

  • Administration 14: Salaries typically range from $58,189 to $77,586 annually, based on qualifications and experiences, plus a performance-based incentive.

Location:

  • Export Development Canada operates in a hybrid work environment, with a current requirement of two in-office days per week, increasing to three days per week in September 2026 (subject to change).
  • This role can be performed from EDC’s headquarters in Ottawa (preferred) or from our Community Hub in Toronto.
  • Relocation assistance is available for candidates who meet the eligibility criteria.

Team Overview:

The Executive Assistant plays a key role in supporting leadership effectiveness across the team. This role provides high-quality calendar, meeting, travel, and coordination support while helping the broader Internal Audit function stay organized, connected, and focused on key priorities.

Beyond day-to-day administrative support, this role helps coordinate team rhythms, prepare leaders for upcoming meetings, track actions and follow-ups, and support divisional activities such as leadership meetings, town halls, and team forums.

What you will be doing:

The Executive Assistant, Internal Audit will provide dedicated administrative and coordination support to the Senior Vice-President (SVP), Internal Audit, helping the SVP stay organized, prepared, and connected to key team priorities. The successful candidate will focus on ensuring the smooth running of the Internal Audit function in partnership with the SVP, and as capacity allows, they will also provide additional calendar, expense, and travel support to the Vice-President and three Directors.

  • Learns the function, understanding how work connects across the team, and takes on broader coordination responsibilities as the role evolves.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve administrative processes, coordination practices, and ways of working.
  • Provides proactive week-ahead calendar planning, including identifying conflicts, preparation needs, travel requirements, and follow-up items.
  • Coordinates meetings, team forums, town halls, offsites, and divisional activities, including agendas, materials, logistics, and follow-up.
  • Tracks and proactively follows up on priorities, deadlines, decisions, required inputs, and action items to keep leaders prepared and work moving.
  • Coordinates travel, including bookings, expenses, itineraries, and supporting documentation.
  • Maintains records, documents, and information repositories with accuracy, discretion, and confidentiality.
  • Builds strong working relationships with leaders, Executive Assistants, administrative colleagues, and key partners.

What we are looking for:

  • Completion of secondary school, plus a minimum 5 years’ administrative or clerical experience, including experience supporting senior leaders or a broader leadership team
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and collaboration tools, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Strong calendar management skills, including anticipating conflicts and keeping leaders prepared.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Highly organized, dependable, and able to prioritize competing demands in a changing environment.
  • Comfortable learning and using new tools and technologies, including Microsoft Copilot and AI-enabled tools, to improve organization, coordination, and ways of working.
  • Fully bilingual in both French and English
