Job Description:Provides health information, crisis intervention and referral through telephone and one-on-one contact, in office and community settings. Provides group educational programs related to program objectives. Interviews and examines clients for the presence of sexually transmitted infections, blood borne pathogens and pregnancy, carries out appropriate laboratory procedures and treats or refers clients based on findings. Locates and notifies contacts to positive cases of sexually transmitted infections and HIV. Provides condom distribution, needle exchange and supplies to persons who use injection drugs through the outreach van.

Experience

  • Minimum of one (1) year Public Health Nursing experience is an asset.

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)

Other Education and Training

  • Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)
