Job Description:The Health Educator - Senior position specializes in stimulating, coordinating, and delivering oral health prevention and promotion activities in the community. This position is responsible for a leadership role in the community related to community development, advocacy, and public relations. This position is under the supervisor of the Manager who is responsible to the Director

Education

• Graduate from a recognized Dental Therapy program

Licenses

• Valid Class 5 driver's license

Other Education and Training

• Graduate from a recognized Dental Hygenist program is also acceptable

Knowledge and Abilities

• Knowledge in population health promotion and its relationship to health status
• Ability to interact in a positive and culturally appropriate manner
• Knowledge of current scientific info/research/best practice in oral health
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
• Ability to diagnose dental decay/abscesses and identify oral abnormalities
• Advocates delivery of culturally safe, responsive & people-centered healthcare
• Knowledge in population health promotion approaches and community development
• Knowledge in oral health and overall health relationship
