Role: Python backend Developer with Azure Experience

Location: Toronto, CA (Remote)

Type: Contract

Role Summary:

  • We are looking for a Python Developer with strong experience in designing, developing, and deploying cloud-based applications on Microsoft Azure.
  • The resource should have hands-on experience in Python development, API development, data processing, cloud integrations, and working with Azure services in an enterprise environment.

Day to Day job Duties:

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain Python-based applications, services, and APIs.
  • Build and deploy scalable solutions using Azure cloud services.
  • Develop REST APIs and backend services using frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask.
  • Work with Azure services such as Azure Functions, App Service, Azure SQL, Blob Storage, Key Vault, Logic Apps, Service Bus, Event Grid, and Azure Data Factory.
  • Integrate applications with external systems, databases, APIs, and cloud services.
  • Develop data ingestion, transformation, and processing pipelines using Python and Azure services.
  • Implement authentication, authorization, logging, monitoring, and error handling.
  • Collaborate with architects, business analysts, data engineers, QA teams, and client stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, optimize performance, and support deployment activities.
  • Follow coding standards, security best practices, and cloud governance guidelines.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 7 8 years of overall IT experience,
  • 3+ years of Python development and
  • 2+ years of hands-on Azure experience.
  • 3+ Experience with REST API development using FastAPI, Flask
  • 3+ Experience with Docker and containerized deployments.
  • 3+ Experience with App Services, Azure SQL, Blob Storage, and Key Vault.
  • Good understanding of cloud-native application design and microservices architecture.
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes or Azure Kubernetes Service.
  • Working knowledge of Azure cloud services.
  • Knowledge of messaging queues such as KAFKA
  • Ability to write clean, reusable, well-documented, and testable code.
  • Understanding of authentication mechanisms such as Entra ID, OAuth, JWT, managed identities, and service principals.
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Microsoft Azure certifications such as AZ-204

Nice to Have:

  • Microsoft Azure certifications such as AZ-900.
