About The Role:

As a Quality Systems Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining and continuously improving Protocase's Quality Management System (QMS). This role exists to help ensure our processes are effective, our documentation remains accurate, and our quality systems continue to support the production of world-class products for customers around the globe.

Working closely with the Quality Systems Manager, Process Owners, and teams across the organization, you'll help strengthen our quality systems through documentation, auditing, process improvement, and root cause analysis. You'll collaborate across departments to identify opportunities for improvement, support compliance efforts, and help drive a culture of continuous improvement.

What You’ll Do:

  • Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Maintain controlled documentation, including procedures, work instructions, forms, templates, and quality records.
  • Coordinate and participate in internal audits while supporting external audit preparation.
  • Collaborate with departments to investigate issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Monitor Quality Management System Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Work with Process Owners to improve processes and ensure documentation remains current and effective.
  • Support quality-related training and promote QMS best practices throughout the organization.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality, efficiency, and consistency.
  • Ensure quality documentation complies with internal standards and customer or regulatory requirements.

What You Need:

Education:

  • Diploma or degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, Quality, or another related technical discipline.

Experience:

  • Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Experience working with standardized processes, documentation, or process improvement initiatives.
  • Experience investigating problems, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Experience collaborating across departments to improve processes and drive operational improvements.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new software systems.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to work on-site on our backshift schedule.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with employees across multiple departments.

What Would Be Considered an Asset:

  • Experience working within an ISO 9001 or other formal Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Experience with document control and maintaining controlled quality documentation.
  • Experience participating in internal or external quality audits.
  • Experience with Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), root cause analysis, or non-conformance investigations.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Previous experience in custom manufacturing or precision sheet metal fabrication.

Within your first year, you will:

  • Develop a strong understanding of Protocase's Quality Management System and manufacturing processes.
  • Build strong working relationships with Process Owners and departments across the organization.
  • Independently maintain controlled documentation and support the ongoing effectiveness of the QMS.
  • Successfully coordinate internal audits and contribute to external audit readiness.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that strengthen quality, consistency, and efficiency.
  • Become a trusted resource for Quality Systems, helping maintain compliance while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
