  • Job Description:Government Relations Coordinator

What you'll do:
As the Government Relations Coordinator, you will support the Office of the Warden and Council by providing strategic government relations, communications, and administrative support. You will monitor emerging issues, foster relationships with government and community partners, coordinate executive communications, and help ensure key priorities are effectively communicated and advanced.

  • Warden & Council Support:Assists the Warden & Council providing strategic advice, executive coordination, and operational support in a fast-paced environment. By managing priorities, conducting research & analysis, and facilitating effective communication across the organization, you'll help advance Council's goals and support informed decision-making.
  • Government & External Relations: Develops and strengthens relationships with government, community, and business partners while serving as a key representative of the Office of the Warden.
  • Meeting Support:Supports the Warden with research, analysis, and the preparation of agendas and briefing materials, while acting as a central point of communication between Council, County leadership, and the community to ensure strong collaboration and informed decision-making.

In accordance with County Policy, a Police Record Check that is acceptable to the County will be required as a condition of employment.

This job is for you if…

  • Our non-negotiables: You have a diploma or degree in Business, Public Relations, Political Science or a related field, and a valid driver's license.
  • Experience:You have 4 years of demonstrated public relations experience within a public sector, municipal government, or equivalent combination of knowledge and experience.
  • Detail Oriented:You produce high-quality, accurate correspondence and documentation, with minimal supervision. You have a keen eye for details, as you would be the key contact for corporate grant applications at the County.
  • Communication Skills:You can communicate clearly and professionally, projecting a positive image and handling diverse stakeholders with tact and diplomacy. You are a prolific writer and are comfortable with public speaking.
  • Workload Management:You can manage and prioritize workload, establishing proper course of action.
