Role overview

Sleep Country Canada is looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Real Estate Specialist to support our Real Estate team in the administration, reporting, analytics, and execution of real estate initiatives and projects. This role is ideal for an early-career professional looking to develop their expertise in commercial retail real estate while supporting a dynamic and growing portfolio. You will gain hands-on experience in retail real estate while working with a team that supports strategic growth, portfolio management, and store development initiatives. In addition, you will have the opportunity to develop valuable skills in lease administration, financial analysis, reporting, and project coordination while contributing to the success of a growing organization.

The successful candidate will coordinate documentation, track critical lease milestones, prepare approval packages and financial analyses, and support reporting and project activities that contribute to the company's real estate strategy.

In this role you will:

  • Coordinate real estate documentation and circulate materials for internal review and approval.
  • Prepare approval packages, pro forma analyses, presentations, and supporting documentation for lease transactions and real estate projects.
  • Support real estate analytics, reporting, and project administration activities.
  • Prepare and maintain internal reporting, including store count reporting, budget tracking, and portfolio summaries.
  • Track and monitor critical lease dates, including notice periods, rent escalations, lease renewals, and condition waiver deadlines.
  • Coordinate tenant allowance package submissions and reimbursement processes with landlords and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate lease and property records, ensuring all documentation is complete and up to date.
  • Assist with special projects and ad hoc reporting requests as required.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, landlords, developers, and external partners to support real estate activities.

The Qualifications and Experience we like to see:

  • College Diploma in Business Admiration, Finance, or related field
  • 1 to 3 years of related experience.
  • Previous experience supporting a retail real estate function
  • Excellent organizational and tracking skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong ability to prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong document management capabilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical and reporting abilities.
  • Experience with Tango lease administration software is considered an asset.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive business information professionally.
  • Self-motivated with a collaborative and customer-focused approach.
  • A proactive and detail-oriented mindset.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational capabilities.
  • A willingness to learn and grow within a retail real estate environment.
  • The ability to build effective working relationships across multiple departments and stakeholders.

Additional Information

This is a current open position. The salary range for this position is $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 annually. Actual salary for the role may vary depending on work location of the successful candidate and other factors including but not limited to, skills, education, experience, working conditions and the local labor market.
