Role overview

Sushi Kawa is looking for a qualified Restaurant Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the daily operations of the restaurant
  • Manage and supervise restaurant staff, including servers, cooks, kitchen helpers and other team members
  • Schedule staff work shifts and monitor staff performance
  • Train new employees in customer service, food safety, restaurant procedures and company standards
  • Ensure high standards of food quality, customer service, cleanliness and workplace safety
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints and special requests in a professional manner
  • Monitor inventory levels and order food, beverages, supplies and equipment as needed
  • Control food, labour and operating costs to support efficient restaurant operations
  • Maintain records of sales, inventory, staff schedules and daily business activities
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation and food handling regulations
  • Assist with menu planning, pricing, promotions and business development strategies
  • Work with the owner and management team to improve restaurant sales, service quality and overall operations

Requirements

  • Education: High School
  • Experience: 1-2 years
  • Experience in Japanese restaurant operations is an asset
  • Strong leadership, communication and customer service skills are required
  • Ability to supervise staff and manage a busy restaurant environment is required
  • Knowledge of food safety, inventory control and restaurant operations is an asset
