Temporary Shelter Team Lead (TL-4) - Nights

Employment Type: Temporary Full-Time

Hours: 40 hours per week
Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday, 11:00 p.m.– 07:00 a.m.
Location: NVSSS Shelter (Knights Inn), Merritt, BC
Reports to: Shelter Manager
Wage: $29.50 per hour

Start: October 27, 2026

Ends: Dec 24, 2026

NVSSS invites current employees to apply for this temporary full-time Shelter Team Lead position to provide vacation coverage.

The Team Lead supervises Shelter Support Workers and coordinates daily shift operations, including staff assignments, participant support, crisis response, shift handovers, documentation and compliance with NVSSS policies and safety procedures.

Applicants should have:

Relevant experience supporting people experiencing homelessness, mental-health challenges or substance use;

Strong leadership, communication, conflict-resolution and decision-making skills;

Knowledge of trauma-informed care, harm reduction and de-escalation practices; and

Relevant human-services education or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
