Line of Business: Technology Operations - Solution Design Team
What does the LOB do:The Solution Design Team partners with application development teams across the enterprise to design infrastructure-based technology solutions. The team works with stakeholders to understand business and technical requirements, assess new application implementations and proofs of concept, determine infrastructure, integration, cloud, networking, and security requirements, and produce solution designs and bill of materials for delivery teams.
Role reports to: Director of Enterprise Solution Design
Reason the role is open: Due to a growing backlog of solution design requests, our current team capacity is insufficient to deliver these projects in a timely manner.
What project will this contractor be working on? The consultant will support Enterprise Technology initiatives across Cyber Security, Fraud, AML, Corporate Security, Risk, and related business portfolios. Responsibilities include partnering with application teams to design infrastructure solutions for new applications, security platforms, and enterprise technology projects while ensuring appropriate cloud, integration, networking, and security architecture requirements are met.
Work Schedule (hours per week, start time): 9-5 37.5 hour

Job Description:
The Senior Infrastructure Solution Designer will be responsible for designing and documenting robust, resilient infrastructure-focused technology solutions that support enterprise application and business initiatives. This role requires a deep understanding of infrastructure services and platforms—including Azure cloud offerings (such as Databricks, Data Factory, IaaS, PaaS, APIM, VDI), database services (SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL), VMware, middleware, networking, and storage.
Working closely with application development teams, business stakeholders, architects, engineers, and delivery teams, the consultant will translate both functional and non-functional requirements into scalable, secure, and supportable infrastructure solutions. The successful candidate will:
• Assess and define infrastructure requirements for new applications and technology implementations.
• Specify cloud and on-premises service needs and integration points.
• Evaluate upstream and downstream system dependencies.
• Produce detailed solution designs and implementation recommendations.
• Ensure solutions are resilient, secure, and aligned with enterprise standards.
A strong understanding of Azure services and infrastructure integration is essential. Experience with cybersecurity platforms and tooling is highly beneficial, including endpoint defense, key management, identity management and authentication, zero trust security, XDR, and SIEM technologies.
Candidates with previous engineering or application development experience are highly desirable due to their ability to bridge business, application, and infrastructure requirements.
Must Have Requirement:
7-10+ years of experience in Solution Design, Solution Architecture, Infrastructure Design, or related roles.
Strong experience designing enterprise infrastructure solutions.
Hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Azure services and cloud-based infrastructure.
Experience with Azure service integrations, API integrations, networking, storage, virtual machines, and container technologies.
Experience engaging with application development teams to gather requirements and translate application needs into infrastructure solutions.
Strong understanding of infrastructure components, integration patterns, and enterprise technology environments.
Ability to create solution designs, technical documentation, and implementation recommendations.
Experience working within large, complex enterprise environments.
Strong stakeholder management and consultative communication skills.
Nice to Have:
Cyber Security domain experience.
Experience supporting Fraud, AML, Risk Technology, Corporate Security, or Financial Services environments.
Knowledge of Palo Alto firewalls.
Experience with SIEM platforms and security monitoring tools.
Previous Engineering background (Systems, Infrastructure, Cloud, Network, or Security Engineering).
