The Clover School’s Elementary Teacher is responsible for leading the implementation of the instructional program in an Elementary class and will work in collaboration with their co-teachers, School Directors and Administration to ensure that their students thrive in a safe, stimulating and nurturing Montessori environment.

As the Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for leading the planning and implementation of the Montessori core program and creating powerful learning experiences for your cohort of students. Our school offers progressive and researched based supplementation to the Montessori curriculum in the Arts, Athletics, Language Arts, Design and experiential Nature-based learning. All of our teachers are expected to either have expertise in these areas or be prepared to learn those approaches to complement the Montessori foundation. In addition, as a teacher at The Clover School, you will work with a leadership team that drives the development of our school as it grows in size and scope. Our goal at The Clover School is to demonstrate the power of the Montessori approach in delivering 21st century learning and preparation for ALL children. Qualifications

The Elementary Teacher shall possess:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Elementary Montessori certification from an AMI or MACTE-accredited training institution.
  • A strong understanding of Montessori philosophy and practice, the Ontario Curriculum, child development, and effective instructional and assessment strategies.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and technology skills.
  • A commitment to professional growth, collaboration, diversity, equity, inclusion, and the mission and values of The Clover School.

Responsibilities

The Elementary Teacher is responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing a high-quality Montessori educational program that supports the academic, social, emotional, and personal development of each student.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Creating and maintaining a safe, engaging, organized, and inclusive classroom environment that reflects Montessori principles.
  • Planning and delivering individualized, small-group, and whole-class instruction aligned with the Montessori curriculum and Ontario Curriculum expectations.
  • Monitoring student progress through ongoing observation and assessment, maintaining accurate records, and preparing progress reports.
  • Communicating regularly with parents and guardians regarding student learning, development, and classroom activities, including participating in scheduled parent-teacher conferences.
  • Collaborating with school leadership, colleagues, families, and external professionals to support student success and contribute to the school community.
  • Participating in professional development, staff meetings, school events, extracurricular activities, and other duties reasonably assigned by the School.
  • Maintaining classroom resources, materials, attendance records, and documentation in accordance with school policies and procedures.
  • Promoting student well-being by maintaining a respectful, inclusive, and positive learning environment while ensuring compliance with all health, safety, safeguarding, confidentiality, and applicable Ministry of Education requirements.
  • Demonstrating professionalism and supporting the mission, vision, values, policies, and reputation of The Clover School in all interactions with students, families, colleagues, and the broader community.
