Role overview

Job Summary:

The Junior Business Analyst will support the onboarding process for eReferral access by validating Health Information Custodian (HIC) and legal status, categorizing clinician end users, and ensuring compliance with digital health service requirements. This role involves gathering and analyzing requirements, engaging stakeholders, and contributing to business process improvements within the Ontario healthcare sector.
Responsibilities:

  • Gather, document, and analyze onboarding requirements related to clinician access, HIC validation, legal structure, and pre-approval for eReferral and digital health services.
  • Support business analysis activities including requirements gathering, mapping, business rules definition, documentation, issue resolution, and reporting.
  • Engage with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure accurate and consistent onboarding processes.
  • Contribute to business process mapping and analysis to improve onboarding decisions and operational efficiency.
  • Categorize and map clinician end users to the Agency's pre-approved HIC types and validate the legally responsible person prior to migration.

Required Skills & Certifications:

  • Understanding of PHIPA principles including consent, collection, use, disclosure, and safeguards of personal health information.
  • Knowledge of the roles of health information custodians and agents under PHIPA.
  • Familiarity with the Ontario healthcare sector and access to electronic health records (EHR) and digital health services.
  • Experience in requirements gathering, documentation development, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

  • Knowledge of information management principles, concepts, policies, and practices.
  • Experience with business analysis methods and tools such as business process mapping and functional modeling.
  • Public sector experience.

Special Considerations:

  • Hybrid work environment requiring 2-3 days onsite per week.
