Job Summary:

The Business Analyst will provide comprehensive I&IT business analysis services to clients with diverse business and technological needs. This role involves engaging with business stakeholders to gather, document, and analyze requirements, facilitating workshops, and developing business cases and cost-benefit analyses. The analyst will lead business process reengineering efforts, align solutions with enterprise architecture and project methodologies, and support change management and user adoption activities.
Responsibilities:

  • Lead and facilitate workshops to elicit, review, document, and confirm business requirements, business models, business rules, and user interface design.
  • Conduct business analysis throughout project phases, including requirements gathering, business modeling, and process improvements.
  • Develop strategies, prepare business cases, conduct cost-benefit analyses, and feasibility studies for I&IT initiatives.
  • Apply re-engineering concepts to promote business improvements and cost-effective service delivery.
  • Support Agile methodologies by creating user stories and aligning business analysis tasks with iterative development cycles.
  • Monitor project progress, resolve issues, and report regularly to management and stakeholders.
  • Develop performance measures and traceability matrices for business analysis evaluation and conduct follow-ups.
  • Manage change processes including impact analysis, training, and communication strategies.
  • Oversee production support and configuration management related to business solutions.
  • Participate in evaluation of vendor responses for I&IT business and infrastructure solutions.

Required Skills:

  • Proven experience leading workshops for requirements elicitation and business process reengineering.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies and ability to break down complex business requirements into manageable deliverables.
  • Experience creating user stories and supporting UX, functional, and technical design processes.
  • Experience on medium to large-sized projects as a business analyst or functional consultant.
  • Ability to develop comprehensive business cases, cost-benefit analyses, and feasibility studies.
  • Familiarity with enterprise business architectural concepts to ensure alignment with standards.
  • Proficiency in business analysis and project management tools such as DevOps, MS Visio, and modeling tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience with change management including impact analysis, training, and communication.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience using information retrieval packages.
  • Knowledge of Information Management principles, policies, and practices.
  • Ability to translate business and data requirements into technology specifications.
  • Experience with business functional modeling, event modeling, and process mapping techniques.
  • Knowledge of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related standards.
  • Familiarity with user-centered design principles and prototyping tools such as Figma.
  • Experience with quality assurance methodologies including user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Experience in budget estimation, risk management, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
  • Prior experience in public sector or OPS environment is a plus.
