General Job Description

Assign and prioritize projects while directing the work of Quality Assurance team. Work with customers, suppliers and other departments to resolve quality issues. Ensure all aspects of part quality are understood and documented.

Abilities, Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the activities of Quality Assurance Team
  • Read interpret blue prints, CAD data and specifications
  • Ensure accurate quality documentation.
  • Report quality status to management.
  • Plan and submit overtime to management for approval.
  • Report any manpower and disciplinary actions to management.
  • Inform affected departments of quality issues or delays.
  • Help develop countermeasures and provide technical support to other departments.
  • Maintain procedures standards and software to ensure good quality and productivity.
  • Participate in kaizen activities to improve part quality.
  • Ensure TG Team members understand customer quality expectations.
  • Work with customer and suppliers to minimize PPM.
  • Plan department activities and assign responsibilities.
  • Manage department spending to meet annual budget.
  • Ensure team members work in a safe manner and maintain good 5S.
  • TG Minto may amend the reporting structure and/or duties and responsibilities as business needs require.

Supervisory Responsibility

  • Train personnel in performance of job tasks.
  • Report any unsafe activities within the company to management.
  • Assign daily activities to members within the Quality Assurance group.
  • Lead Quality Assurance group activities to brain storm countermeasures and develop solutions to quality problems.
  • Maintain good process documentation.
  • Schedule Quality Assurance activities to meet production deadlines.
  • Report on quality status. Ability to go to customer.
  • Conduct yearly evaluations of Quality Assurance Team Members

Qualifications

  • Have relevant technical qualifications and a minimum of 5 years related experience in a quality position with proven leadership skills in an industrial or manufacturing plant.
  • Ability to communicate with skilled trades at all levels of experience and management.
  • Team leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.

Language Skills

  • English and able to communicate well with others.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to exercise balanced judgment in evaluation situations and making decisions

Nature of vacancy: Replacement

Straight Shift Timing on Afternoons Shift (2:00 PM-10:30 PM) but may be required to change shifts in order to accommodate production requirements.
